In order to comply with YouTube's terms of services, we are introducing some changes to how we process, store and display data gathered from YouTube in quintly.
From the 6th of June, 2018 onwards you'll experience the following changes when using YouTube metrics for your analysis:
Public YouTube data cannot be stored for longer than 30 days:
You'll be able to access the past 30 days of historic data on profile level for the channels you are tracking and don't have admin rights to. If you are tracking channels that are connected to YouTube Analytics, you'll be able to access the data as before. You’ll also be able to access interactions (e.g. videos) data as before both on the public and private level.
YouTube data cannot be processed into generic or derived metrics:
We will no longer be able to build custom metrics using YouTube data. This means we will continue showing the data we import, but we won't be able to derive metrics based on this data. As an example, you'll see the number of likes on a video, but we won't be able to show the average number of likes on videos.
Users can no longer create custom metrics:
Our users will no longer be allowed to create Custom Metrics including YouTube Data on their own. This is due to quintly not being able to ensure that such metrics do not include derived data. Of course, our team can continue to create Custom Metrics that do not include derived data for you.
